18-Month-Old Baby Abused by Mother in Florida: Arrest Made
A Florida mother has been arrested for child abuse after allegedly harming her 18-month-old baby during moments of frustration. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Alexis Hardacre took her infant to Brandon Regional Hospital on September 15 with injuries that included wounds on the face, neck, and arm, as well as bruising behind the ear and on the thigh.
After an investigation, Hardacre admitted to repeatedly slamming her baby into a crib and using excessive force to restrain the child when the baby refused to sleep during nap time. The mother was arrested on November 18 and charged with one count of third-degree felony child abuse. She was later released on a $2,500 bond.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed his distress over the case, saying, “This case is gut-wrenching. No child should ever endure the pain and suffering inflicted on this innocent baby.”
The investigation is still ongoing as authorities continue to examine the case.
